We've rallied and shouted thinking, where did this excitement come from?

Met a lot of people that we'll never forget

Some we'll see again and others we won't

Knocked a lot of doors
Got a few unpleasant greetings, learned not to take it personal....oh well, love is a daring thing

  Got a few doors slammed
Was a little scared, quite scared
Oh well, I got over it and
moved on to the next

Got alot of doors opened with rays of sunlight
Heard excitement in the name Obama and
got even more spirited to go the extra
distance and knock on the next door

Registered many brand new voters and
encouraged 1st time voters to really vote this time

Called a lot of possible voters and got a lot of good responses that decided they'd vote for Obama and the Democratic Party

Now the election is over our journey and work begins

So don't get too tired or too relaxed
he's going to need all of our helping hands

And remember when we began we journyed to take another challenge to learn what we needed  in order to help ourselves,
our communities and help Obama too.

This is our journey together, unity together and forever

This is where you roll up your sleeves and really
think about what you want and how to realize it when it comes

No question asked can be answered
if you choose not to ask it

If we can hold Obama accountable
then we must not forget to hold ourselves accountable too

We went all out, over and beyond to get him elected

Now we must go all out, over and beyond to
partner with dilligence from this day forward or our journey is on hold and our future is neglected

Yes We Can Make A difference!

Yes We Can Make Change!

I enjoy reading your poem,I am glad that Obama won the election.Through the whole world everybody celebrated including streets and all around the globe. It was indeed an historic moment in our history.I was proud to see Obama win as an African-American.Anything is possible in this world if we believe in our selves.I believe that Obama will do a great job,but he can't do it by himself. We as a people need to come together and support him 100% and make changes in our lives. The sky's the limit for us :-0.take care
