A dedication to my husband on his 50th birthday.
|
Dear Mom,
I wanted to write a letter to you on Tim's 50th birthday to tell you how thankful I am for your part in bringing him into the world, raising him, and then as he grew, relinquishing your role as the only woman in his life, and giving your blessing for us to enter the holy union of marriage.
If I had just three requests I could turn into gifts for Tim, they would include: love, strength, and hope.
A love that deepens with maturity; one that is sacrificial, forgiving, and eternal.
Strength to endure whatever trials and challenges life has to offer, and to know that in those times, it is God who carries him through them.
Finally, a hope that never gives up; always seeks the truth, and believes the best about everyone he meets.
James 1:17 says, "Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows."
Everyone who knows Tim sees these gifts God has already given to him.
So on this day of celebration, I realize I too am blessed for having been with him for the last twenty-one years.
I'm sure you will join me in wishing him a very Happy Birthday!
Love,
Melody

Mel:
I couldn't resist this one. Indeed as you say, your wished gifts for Tim are qualities he already possesses. Each time I've met him, I've been struck anew at his hopefulness, his happy nature . . . qualities any of us would be blessed to have.
That spirit, that pure love is still within him.

That is such a nice letter that any mother would be so touched to receive and I'll bet ya she just cried when she read that. That is one of the nicest things anyone could do. You are a very special and thoughtful lady.
God Bless You and Your family
Merriest Christmas and many Blessed years.

| I did this on my wife's birthday a couple of years ago. It made my in-laws day. I wish more people would acknowledge the love from "Mom" and "Dad", on their childs birth. Very thoughtful. |
