I took my son to the shelter this morning. He was out of school due to snow and very bored. He found a friend named Muffin, a shelter cat who loves children. They both have been playing all day. If you have a loving home and room in your life, adopt a shelter pet. You might find a friend who is true to you.

I awoke this morning, my son was out of school.

Snow covered this ground, what was a boy to do?

I said, "build a snow man" but he could not take the clue.

He sat bored all day, what was a boy to do?

I took him to the shelter, he loves animals too.

Cats, dogs need love too.

He found a cat named Muffin.

She sat in the back, she peered at him often.

Their eye's met, as if understanding each other.

Zach said, "she appears bored."

I said, "You seem to be too."

He adopted "Ms.Muffin."

She is free from the shelter.

Zach is no longer bored and neither is Ms.Muffin.

Both have found a friend, and it seems this friendship was meant to be.

Please check out your local shelter, you might find a friendship that was meant to be.

Richard,
I didn't adopt my sweet little dog but he has meant so much to my life. I've had Blackie for six years and he's part of the family. i hope your poem causes others to adopt these precious animals. Yes, they need love too.

Blessings+
~Linda
