Earth Day 2010

Earth Day is April 22, 2010. We can all do our part to help this planet. A small effort helps, baby steps leads to miles.

We hear of climate change…
Things we say we can’t change
The problem is too big…
The system is already rigged
Oil Companies
Chemical Companies
Congress is bought
The problems can’t be fought
~
Yes we can!
If we set out a plan
Small steps
Baby steps
Leads to miles
~
I found a group of kids
Whose futures we all depend
Seeking a leader
One small voice
~
I ask for some trees…
People seemed to be pleased
That a local author
Was willing to make the offer
To plant some trees
For some small children
~
I went to their school
The kids thought it was cool
Others came out
Parents
County Commissioners
Principals
Shovels in hand
~
We planted and talk
It was our small part
Of an effort
To
Make this Earth
A
Better place
For these kids...
So close to our hearts
And
This Earth which we are all a part
-PEACE

Love it. Yes we must take care of this planet and a good way to do it is to teach our children to think 'green' and I don't mean green as in dollars.

The children of today desperately need many more 'nature mentors' like yourself - they are becoming harder and harder to find.
