TIME WASTED
An ordinary day
I woke with the sunshine
Extraordinarily bright
I pulled down my blinds
And lay there in wonder
What to do with the hours
The rest made me restless
To leave would take effort
Time wasted
Nothing gained
The other side of the globe
My neighbor dreams of his home
No sunshine, no view
Clouds made of black smoke
No blinds and no time
No sense to wonder
For hours are but seconds
Battle for cause
Survival is key
Protect and defend
A void, it shall wait
Such a selfless soul
Though eternally honored
In a bed made of clay
Just an ordinary day
