'Angela's Ashes' author Frank McCourt dies in NYC at 78.

One of the most
Endearing, dread-filling
Irish-past reads
Of my life.

‘It’ put me into
A ‘separation’ of mind
I thought I was done with.

Proving there is no past,
Just awareness,
In desperate
Degrees.

It was one of my all time favorites and the world lost a great talent with his passing but the wonderful thing is he will live forever in his words...

YOUR WORK CAUSED ME TO GO ON LINE AND THOUGH I MUST CONFESS I NEVER READ THIS NOVEL IN ITS ENTIRITY, I FOUND A SITE WHERE I COULD READ EXCERPTS FROM EVERY CHAPTER, WHICH I DID...IT IS INDEED A NOTEWORTHY LITERARY WORK AND I NOW SOMEWHAT UNDERSTAND ITS IMPACT ON YOU. I AM GOING TO PURCHASE THE BOOK...TODAY. ANGELA'S ASHES SEEMS TO BE A PROFOUND TRUE STORY OF PERSEVERANCE, BY THE AUTHOR...BUT MOSTLY BY THE MANDATED WILL OF GOD, AGAINST UNIMAGINABLE ODDS...EVEN FROM THE EXCERPTS I CAN ASCERTAIN THAT IT IS INSPIRATIONAL AND LET'S US KNOW... "IF GOD BE FOR YOU...WHO CAN BE AGAINST YOU?" McCOURT OPENED UP A CAN OF WORMS THAT A LOT OF HIS HOMETOWN FOLKS RESENTED, BUT HE HAD TO GET IT OFF HIS CHEST. THANKS FOR SHARING AND BLESSINGS.

Angela's Ashes was a powerful, powerful book - heartbreaking! Makes me grateful for what little I do have. Well penned, Erin.
