Casino

In the chromium cavern of darkroom lights
Way below the reach of oaks
Tales unfold of tinsel nights
Wrapped in laughter, song and the jokes

Reminiscent of a living hell
The gambler plays his hand again
Will he win? time will tell
Can he lose and bare the pain.

Dreams are forged behind the masks
Of bland faces at the stalls
Each charged with robot tasks
Watch the rise and the falls

Some are there for other games
Businessmen away from home
No real need to bandy names
Only there to bite the pome.

Silver pyramid as river bends
What's your poison? we have it all
We even have a place that lends
Make your choice it's your call.

Perched on the banks of the Swan river Perth. From my book Derbal Yaragen.
