A DIETER'S LAMENT
(with some apologies to Pam Ayers)
Oh pass me that packet of peanuts,
Toss me that Turkish Delight,
I've been a diet
For two long weeks
And I'm feasting, not fasting tonight!
That creamy croissant that I craved for
Those do-nuts I didn't devour;
The hot buttered scones
That I drooled on
Were haunting me hour after hour.
But at last I have loosened my waistband
By gracefully going without,
So throw me that thing
With the jam and the cream
And here- throw the cottage cheese out!

Hey Dora, hi to you from Liverpool.
Don't you dare apologise to Pam, she'd be proud of this lament.
Having just consumed two tons of food this weekend, I know just what you mean!
I look forward to reading more of your works.

Loved that.
Cottage cheese is the most uninteresting food..but i'm having it every lunchtime at present....as Christmas is coming and them I'll let loose. Hope you can too.
Merry Christmas

| Cute write. Now, I am hungry. The thing with the jam and cream sounds good to me too. Enjoyed. |
