For a Friend

They entered that white tent with vivid Euphoria,
Dressed in that dreadful white like Jewish Messiah...
We've escaped gloom into everlasting H'ness.
Who should blame them...products of unlikely
They've praised and exhalted themselves
as their opportunity whisked them higher than
they thought possible.
They sent their pet to
still remained their pet...but they thought better
of what they've done...the cat is changed. Smiles!
The society watched as the tent's occupants
became incensed and disconcerted.
They still uttered that mundane and
inconsequentialists' "we don't care!"
The "we don't care" haunted them like
a specture over their paradise.
They've always believed the ancient pronouncement,
and it is their right to deny the inconsequentialism
emanating from their non-conscientious conscience...
Papa will give then a nostrum...
But the anxiety of the inconsequential
heart remains...H'ness is many light years way...
Because we're watching...and we're coming!!
