I hate mosquitoes! They're everywhere in the summer and when they "have their way with me" I just have to get even - even if it's with a silly poem since repellents just don't do the trick!

Mosquito bites are hideous
The itching so insidious
Those bugs will have their way with you
Not just one bite or maybe two
They quietly land and find a spot
Somewhere exposed where clothes are not
Insert their drills and go for oil
Your afternoon they sure will spoil
Forget the oils, candles and lotions
Forget the sprays and voo doo potions
These little devils will work their magic
'Til you're covered in bumps and look quite tragic
Your body they will destroy and defile
And you'd better hope they're not West Nile!

Ewww, I hate bugs. You wouldn't want to live here in Texas, if you don't like bugs: some of 'em are so big, you can ride 'em! Especially waterbugs *shudders*. Or else they bite. Fireants, spiders ... HATE 'em, but not these words: know how you feel! DEET will take care of (most of) them. =]

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.

I hate them too. At least they provided you with an inspiration that made us laugh.

I completely agree with you, Pamela. It's amazing how such tiny creatures can create such pain and annoyance. Thank you for sharing your thoughts via your verses. Love and best wishes,

Haha! Well, it is a miracle down here in the swamp. Since Katrina mosquitoes as well as flies have all but disappeared. Unbelievable, but true. I can't remember the last time I saw a fly and it has been over a week since a mosquito has buzzed me when I was walking Zoe. Cute poem.
