The Birthday Card Isle

It's a lie, It's a lie, It's a lie
All of it.
Why are these cards even written.
Show me a place where
These things would be written by
Normal people.

Reality is that
Normal people can't write normal things.
So therefore they look for that
Which they can't provide.
And it's always easier for someone else to lie.

And give them a lie.
Give it to them.
For one day and one day only,
Let them believe the lie
Let them enjoy a little ray of sunshine coming from you
Or not coming from you,
But you get it.

Reality will set in tomorrow,
Or maybe the next day.
Then the lie will be past.
Give them a lie
Just for today.
