This is dedicated to my mother Mrs. Carmen C. Ruggiero 11/19/1921 2/18/2007

Iíll remember the sound of your voice;
like a sweet whisper,
it will come to me in a summerís rain.
Iíll remember your grace
forever or until I find you again,
as I know my time on earth
is as quick as the blink of an eye,
and then Iíll fly to you
and there, by the tiffany moon,
I shall find your tender face once more
and weíll smile and sing a merry tune
but until then, I will think of you
and remember things you said
and how I often wondered,
but never did ask,
if all your needs were met;
were you happy, or were you sad.
Iíll remember you in autumn
when the landscape turns
in shades of amber and gold,
bagging leaves and burying bulbs.
Iíll remember hot coffee and fresh croissants,
and it was time to close the windows
because winter was around the corner
and you didnít like the cold.
But best of all, Iíll remember you in spring
when new life glints in waves of wonder
and the pretty flowers bloom;
when the tiger lilies and purple roses loom,
and the scent of you is in the air
and the robin sings his love song,
I knowÖ thatís when Iíll remember you most.

My eyes are filled with tears. I am very close to my mother, too.

It is so true. You will feel your mother's presence through the beauty of nature around you. The autumn landscapes, the lilies and the robins are all signs of her love and her presence.

This is so beautiful

Carmen, my condolences! Your poem touches upon the most cherished memories, yet I know there are so many more left to spring forth and sadden and gladden your heart. Your loss is so recent and acute...may you take comfort from that strong sense of connection that will last.

Beautiful, beautiful poem and picture!

(((Carmen))),

I'm sorry for your loss. St. Patrick's Day is the anniversary of my own beloved mother's passing--17 years now.

You invoke the aroma of my mother's favorite perfume (L'air D' Temps) and her cooking skills--I miss them, and her. :(

Does it get easier? I think not...know you're in my heart and prayers.

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.

Lovely tribute to a very lovely lady, Carmen. I find myself wondering how much time remains for me and my mother, now going on 90, to enjoy sharing life's many wonders...
May your Spring be filled with a riot of colorful blooms and lilting bird songs.
Peace be with you and your beautiful mother.

I am in that phase of retracing the steps of my own Mother's ultimate demise this time last year. With heartfelt sympathy and prayers for peace and comfort in your loss. Much love, Kate xx

Oh, Carmen. What a w o n d e r f u l tribute you have created. When you gave me a heads-up { t h a n k. y o u }, I couldn't wait. Knew
you would capture her and your relationship perfectly, and that your originality would shine. Touches I particularly love are "tiffany

I am sorry for your loss, but completely convinced that your mom

You've brought tears to my eyes dear friend...and a thought to my heart. You've reminded me just how short life really is, and just how much I love my mother! I am sorry for your loss and my prayers are with you for I know the days ahead will be difficult. Your poem is such a loving and warm tribute that tells the readers much about your mom's life and the making of memories that you will cherish a lifetime. When my mammaw (grandmother) passed away many of my senses were awakened, memories flood my mind when I smell someone wearing the perfume that was her favorite, when I smell biscuits baking in the morning, and when certain television programs comeon...I think it's a gift from God that allows us to keep our memories alive in our hearts and minds....Beautiful write my friend, simply beautiful...

Dear Carmen, this was so lovely and by the date on the picture, I see that you just lost this wonderful lady yesteray. She looks happy and I can just imagine her doing all the things you describe. My own mother is 90 and lives in an assisted living facility and it reminds me that I, too could be writing a tribute all too soon. Prayes and wishes are with you as you go through this difficult time. But keep writing and remembering her...that is the best tribute you could make.
