'morning, sun

The Sun runs its course everyday, gaining or loosing several minutes each time. Happy the poet who notices...

It is getting easier to rise

with the sun these days.

The one that was such a

ball of fire in June has

become quite the slug-a-bed now

in  mid August

By October I’ll be getting up

in the dark.

It’s like that every year,

until April when the sun

again out paces my need

for morning rest.

Long may it continue

this game of bedtimes

and awakenings’

Long, too, may the sun-illumined

new day be filled with

new challenge,

new joys new glimpses of

heaven, new love for others, and.

hope for the earth.
