FALSE DAWN

Ah. promise of the new day!

Night has lost the struggle
triumphant day begins.
Through the misty pastures
the sunlight rises to its crest
while down the hilly cropland
the night shadows drain away.
New as the day’s promise
is the hope the greets us.
Gone the failures of yesterday;
gone the past’s dead hand suppressing
the new miracles of the dawning day.
Do not be afraid, by lunch all will
Back to normal once again.
