In the promise of a springtime sprout
I see the promise you wrote on my heart
The promise that makes me ache to know you
In the passing of the rain
I see mercy that washes me anew
Incomprehensible mercy for the undeserving
The blighted, the plagued
Mercy I am not ignorant enough to even hope I deserve
In the light of a noon time sun
I see the hope you have instilled in us all
The hope that there is more than what we know in this life
Peace, joy and contentment beyond human reason
So much more than this contaminated life could ever offer
Nature screams out your name.
Why won’t we all hear it?
