Easter has come and gone the children have returned home, and here I set the starry-eyed fool with a basket of chocolate and yesterdays eggs sending me on my way.
It is hard to see the hope one feels adrift upon the flightless wings of a kite beating against the still wind. Nevertheless, you run as if nothing else matters but the sad close to the day’s end.
And you laugh and play, pitch a horse shoe game with someone else’s lady close at hand, the starry-eyed fool basket of chocolate and yesterdays eggs to send him on his way.
We can all count our blessing in measures of tempered expectations, following a thought as if it could ever be more then that flightless kite beating against the still wind what a lonely dream.
Easter has come and gone, the children have returned home, and here I set the starry-eyed fool basket of chocolate and yesterday eggs sending me on my way.
I see her almost every day and I cannot help but remember Easter day, a gentle touch a smile to send this starry-eyed dreamer on his way….
