A new poem being added to my book.

A whisper beckons as the sun begins to decline,

How oft I would go to romance the evening mist.

Lower sun, as twilight gains the sunless shine,

And the red sky wanes then blushes as if it were kissed.

I come as called by the now pink sky, lowering,

And watch as angels dust forms the evening star.

I rise up to greet the full twilight as it is surrounding,

And watch the night birds soaring near, then so far.

The sun is now gone, then twilight glimmers,

And gives way as darkness claims it’s realm.

While the evening star dances and shimmers,

Then gives up graciously it’s position at the helm.

I stare in awe of starlit sky without number,

And wonder in amazement at creations hand.

The evening brings peace before I slumber,

Night sounds rise in volume, hear, oh joy I stand.

The darkness is full and my time is past,

It was grand to behold, but now I sorrow.

Eventide beauty a powerful tonic, doesn’t last,

But God bless, we will do it all again tomorrow.

I really like the title of your poem, it sets the stage really well, and the whole poem flows from there beautifully ~

Theodore,

What a beautiful poem about a sunset turned to eve. I did one the other way, a sunrise turned to day! Great metaphoric phrases

Mary
