Brown Silent Eyes

Brown silent eyes

Brown eyes still

Torment my dreams

Those Brown eyes

I wish to see my reflection

From within.

Lips that no longer

Speak out my name

In passionate sighs

I crave to hear

As they break the vowed

Of silence

Not to be cursed with

The memory

Of summer nights

Once own in dreams.

When my eyes were blest

With your loveliness

In a crowded room

All became a blur

Except you standing there,

Your brown eyes

Spoke silent words.

The expression

upon a beautiful face

Was worth a thousand words

For it read

Like the scribed parchment

Baptized by a poet’s

Blood soaked quill

That dripped from his

Scared heart

Where cupid’s arrow

Still is pierced.

My empty embrace seeks

The warmth

Of your Voluptuousness

My lips are parched

Like the arid sand

Of hell

They starve for the sweet nectar

Lacing the softness of yours

So I may kiss the beauty

Of Brown eyes

Reflecting me from within.

'Tho beautiful, there is a sadness to your words, William, that I can't quite comprehend; an emptiness in those beautiful brown eyes. Keep loving, dear friend, as those moments shall, hopefully, pass.

Passionate and distraught in equal measure, William, and I especially love that third stanza, which, with that little word "blur", for me gives the impression of the blinding mental fog of pain and confusion this poem conjures... blinded, except for, of course, those beautiful brown eyes.... Love-wrung and wrought to the uttermost. xx
