Day’s End

The days end

Is here at hand

All chores accomplished

A time to rest and relax

A hot tub is drawn

Within it

I place my tired aching body

Half a century of hard work

Nose to the grind stone

A graduate of the university

Of hard knocks.

I stepped into a steaming

Hot Tub

With scented Bubbles

Yes bubbles

To hide my decrepitude

Flesh from even my own sight

I slowly sit

Feeling the greatest of sereneness

I lay back to work on some

Crosswords puzzles

My mind preoccupied

With unanswered questions.

I find pleasure rearranging

Words

The most wonderful

Moment is at hand

She entered my mind, my every thought

But nothing is lost

She came, she saw, she conquered.

She slip into my tub

Nestle to my right side

Placed her beautiful brown hair

On my chest

Cock a leg over my body

As her soft hand explore

regions unknown.

Brown sensuous eyes

Stare at me

Whispering naughty desires

Puckering her tender lips

Teasing me begging for a kiss.

Slowly straddling me

With her heavenly petite

Body

Like a cowgirl

Riding a mechanical bull

In slow motion

Taking me there

where no other had ever dared.

Her body sizzled

Like a Red hot coal

Half way in the water

Yet this Ember

Never doused, never died out

Retaining its Hot glow

Spent,

We held on to each other

Drifting into a heavenly dream

I thought

But I was brought back

To the reality

Of my soothing Hot Tub.

I search my crossword puzzle

For the last word entered

Answering the question

“Ashy glowing residue of a burning log”

And I scribed “Ember”

Misspelling it

With an “A”.

The Professor from the University of Hard Knocks has misspelled the name of our mystical Universal traveler, perhaps it will be corrected in another lifetime?
