Missing the Den

~~~*~~~
My thoughts are always with you all
Even As I am absent from you
Walking down the hall
I crave to be there with you
Read you guys day and night
But the reality
Of my present surroundings
Keep me away.
~~*~~
 I feel like an addict
A junkie being drawn
Towards your direction
Every time I pass a computer
Because I know that’s where
My heart resides
Incarcerated in cyber space.
~~*~~
I do sneak in
Once in a while
Or as the old clehe goes
Once in a Blue moon.
Sneak in,
So I am not talked about
Like “He should be taking care of her”
Instead of farting around with the computer
~~*~~
My mind has not relaxed
My quill
I must say is still within my grasp
My ink well is filled
My poetic values I still possess
I still brand the blank parchments
Present before me
With the Gift the Lord has given me.
~~*~~
Yet I can’t be there with you
My friends, my favorite writers
My readers and great reviewers
And like my grandson say
“My Homies”
That one was for him
Because he truly inspires me.
~~*~~
Yes you do Lil Curt
“I call him the Pimp”
Because he’s kind of kool
Smooth as silk
Handsome like Grandpa used to be
At least that’s what they say
Who am I to argue
Has a good head on his shoulders
For a young man maturing
Being weighted down with wisdom
At his early age.
~~*~~
I have to take care of
“The One”
Most important in my live
She who has grown and aged
Gracefully and ever so beautifully
While by my side
In all our years she was
The one that was always there for me
When I opened my eyes
Not knowing where I was
My lovely Graying Raven
If only you could have seen her
In her Yesteryears
As beautiful as a Cover Girl.
~~*~~
She needs me now
Those vows I Took
Almost half century ago
I am abiding by now
For ever and ever
Till death do us part
No she’s not dying
Just recovering from major surgery
A slow process
I can hear her lively laughter as
I am writing…….
She’s on the phone
What else is new????
~~*~~
Your absence is well stated in this beautiful poem. Of course we miss you William, but time given to the caring of another, or to ourselves, is far more important. Know that your AD "chair" awaits your return, friend.
William, I know you are with us in spirit, and for me, I know your inner feelings are real, and you always speak from the heart. I will be in touch, perhaps D'Artagnan needs another dose of Amber collaboration! I will keep sending healing energy out to your wife for a more speedy recovery. Just remember that you are always in my thoughts.
Peace, love, and light,
Lots of bottled up thoughts and feelings escaping in this one William and that is sometimes the best way to release emotional stress that we often carry packed away like last winter's clothes. Hope all goes well and you are back writing with us soon.
I hear you loud and clear, William.
Another satisfying write all 'round!
You've got your priorities straight;
and your flexibility in place...
All will be well soon enough.
Sorry to hear your beloved wife is recovering from major surgery, but glad she is on the mend; please take care of her (and yourself), and take all the time you need. We'll still be here, waiting. Know you are loved and are in our prayers/thoughts!
(((HUGS))) and much love, your friend in Tx., Karen Lynn. :(
My twin sister knows this all too well; she was in your shoes nearly three years ago when I was so sick and had major surgery myself. It was not easy for either one of us, but I think it was hardest on her.
(((HUGS))) love and prayers - we miss you, too. :( Come back when you can, but take care of your family, first. And yourself.
