The Chess game

******

There is a vision

Branded in my mind

Ever since a dream

Left it behind

Never to be forgotten.

**

There was an open grave

Under a shady elm

In Arlington

On the tombstone

Was carved my name

Under, it read

USMC.

**

It was empty

Beautiful green sod

laid neat by its side

At a distance

A lone piper practiced

A beautiful tune

Amazing grace

with a somber look

Upon his face.

**

Two Angels sat silently

By the wayside

Both handsome as all

Angels are

One had shoulder length

Black silky hair,

Ebony wings as that raven

Perched over there

With an expressionless

Face.

**

As the contras of day and night

The other

Had Long Golden hair

Wings reflecting the rays

Of a rising sun

He wore not a smile

But a soft glow resembling one

They silently played chess.

*****

Such deep dreams you have, William! Have you been reading Poe, lately?
Dark-haired angel...evil? Golden haired angel...good? May the Golden-haired one win the chess game, and remove the headstone for much later use...
Interesting, poetic dream...my interpretation...
Blessings and Love - Micke

One incredible dream William, you are not ready to play chess just yet!
Too many stories and poetry left in your heart...
Beautiful poem, captures a plane of existence that only a true poet can exist in.
Peace, love, and light,

USMC's will have dreams...never nightmares, and next time I play chess with the Big Boss I will ask Him why those angels were distracted playing chess instead of showing you the special place that Marines have in Heaven. And, my brother, that lone piper will never had a somber face when playing Amazing Grace for you.
May your heart get eternal peace among your brothers in Arlington.
Amazing!

IS THIS FOR REAL WILLIAM....? IF IT IS, I WOULD THINK IT TO BE PRETTY SIGNIFICANT IN THAT WE KNOW THERE IS A CONTINUOUS 'WAR' GOING ON BETWEEN GOOD AND EVIL WITHIN US AND GOD HAS GIVEN US A 'FREE WILL' TO CHOOSE WHICH SIDE WE WANT TO FOLLOW. THIS A VERY WELL DONE WORK. ENJOYED. THANKS FOR SHARING AND GOD BLESS YOU.
