Breaking the silence

~* ~

I broke the silence

Of the night

With a constant

Macabre hideous cough

Distorting the darkness

Within

The gloom of my misery

Until I spied

A soft orange glow caressing

The graying skyline atop

Spanish moss laden

Cypress trees

Bathing in the mist

Of a morn

Elaborately adorning

My eastern view

I’ve survived another night

Will I?

The promise before me

Of an oncoming beautiful day.

I like the way you contrasted the darkness, the gloom and the illness with the promise of the new dawn, and light, and healing, and hope. Thank you, William. Love and peace to you,
