God's Greatest Gift This Christmas

This Christmas time, I heard the angels sing

in glorious harmony near.

So different and so far away

from where I was at this time last year.

The sorrow seems to be healing,

pain subsides, peace rings its sweet song.

It will be, after all, a Merry Christmas,

with God’s choir my soul sings along.

This has happened once before in the past,

He came and lifted me up in my dreams.

I cannot express what it meant to me,

nor the beauty that these eyes have seen.

As I see another Christmas approaching, mind

wanders with thoughts of less fortunate ones.

I thank my Father in heaven

for the blessings, and all kindness done.

I know how it feels to suffer,

and I have hung on my cross beside Christ.

I have wandered life’s arid deserts...

I have grown in my heart through this life.

Many prayers for God’s children this season,

may our lives be filled with His light all our days.

May we share in love and joys of the heart

His most beautiful gift we call Faith.
