A bright summer’s day
A child plays in the garden.
What a beautiful child, innocent, pure.
Her sparkling green eyes filled with joy.
Giggling at the butterflies, she is amazed.
Oh what wonders she finds on a bright summer’s day.
Beautiful roses surround her, yellow, red, white, and pink.
Their fragrance fills the air carried by the breeze.
She closes her eyes and she just breathes.
Laughing and twirling like children do,
She falls to the ground, smiles at the sky
On a bright summer’s day.
A warm summer’s day
Raindrops fall, just a few
Roll, like tears, down her cheeks.
Lightning strikes in the distance. Thunder sounds.
A storm is coming, or has it already arrived?
Her eyes fill with fear, for she is only a child, on a warm summer’s day.
The gate crashes open! The wind rushes past! There, at the gate he stands!
Yellow eyes filled with rage, hunger, and lust, the wolf approaches.
Slowly, circling his prey, he pounces on a dark summer’s day.
The rain falls now in torrents, lightening strikes closer still.
Angry clouds hide the sun as she cries to the sky.
Oh, a dark summer’s day.
A sad summer’s day
A child wakes in her bed.
Such a beautiful child, but innocence dead.
She looks out her window at the garden below.
Rose petals cover the ground, yellow, white, pink, and red.
Teardrops fall like rain from the sky as she lowers her head on a sad summer’s day.
One beautiful spring day a woman wakes in her bed, sun shining, birds singing.
The roses are blooming yellow, red, pink, and white.
Her heart gives thanks for the love she feels each day.
She has found peace, tranquility, calm,
And she breathes again. Life has begun.
What a beautiful spring day.
