Those little charges of energy that make us who we are...they often play their melody in our heads...the symphony of life...of being...
I can hear the soft refrain,
Playing deep bass and tenor,
In my tired and aging brain.
It is the song of my life,
The notes are somewhat out of tune,
The sharps cut like a knife.
Yet it is the melody,
The ever changing music of my soul,
That sets me free.
I listen when I can,
When the "real" world does not interfere,
When I can be my own man.
It is a peaceful music,
Full of love and comforting grace,
Sometimes a little cubic,
But never empty of time and space.
I dance within my mind,
I twirl with the confused tunes,
And never fail to find,
A message within its odd runes.
So excuse me if I seem distracted,
If I seem somewhere far away,
If my answers are somewhat protracted,
Because I am in another day.
I cannot change my band,
It is embe dded in my heart,
It is all I have at hand,
And is all I need to start.
So please be aware that I am dancing,
Not in front of you,
But my soul is prancing,
Within eternal morning dew....

A beautiful, haunting melody you play. You're talented: all I can play is the 'tit fer (Cajun style triangle). LOL Thank God for poetry! LOL Well done, I love this introspection.
(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.
