I strolled down the avenue one day

browsing and beholding all to do and weigh.

It’s been a while since I’ve been there

So I found myself anticipating your hair.

I thought back to a short time ago

To a period when…you were filled with woe.

All you said and did was held locked in my heart

Time well shared - precious and without rot.

Tears besieged my soul for those moments,

Missing you and all your special ways.

My aspirations all suppressed now

Only reflections; tanned and present.

I turned to the left hoping to end my trip,

I looked in back in despair knowing you should not return.

Departing to go it alone, I felt part of my heart shred

Cause I did not glimpse you

on this avenue called ‘Friendship’ my ray of hope.
