Destruction of a love affair is always heartbreaking

What does one do when your significant other passes away

Prayer of course is a remedy of substance

But in my case my Georgia Peach is gone forever

She has told me in dreams, move on to happiness

Can one be happy after a climactic ending

In my case no way

To much has been made of child abuse

Alcohol consumption in epic proportions

None of these endure to a happy life

I now live a simple life, I have found GOD

Albeit I am a very lonely old man

One who needs a tone of affection

Even just a smile

SOMETIMES HONESTY HURTS...BUT NOTHING CAN TAKE THE PLACE OF THE BEAUTY AND KINDNESS OF...'TRUTH' AND IF A 'SMILE' DOESN'T MEAN WHAT YOU WANT IT TO MEAN...IT IS BETTER TO WAIT FOR AN AUTHENTIC ONE THAT IS FILLED WITH THE MEANING THAT YOU ARE SEARCHING FOR. YOU ABILITY TO BE 'GENUINE' AND 'BARE YOUR SOUL' IS A BLESSINGS TO YOU AND YOUR READERS. THANKS FOR SHARING. LOVE, BLESSINGS & FAITH....JOYCE * HIS INSPIRATIONS

Smiling at you Sweet Friend.

You are right, a smile from a stranger, does more to lift one's spirit that anyone can imagine.
I have always believed in the power of smiling :)

Much peace, love and light,

Tony, I’ve been there. It’s not pleasant and it takes time to get to the point where you really do want to go on, but after a spell, I was able to move on. You’ll never replace her and I wouldn’t tell you to try, but if you are interested in seeking companionship with someone who has been through your same dilemma and might be understanding of your feelings…. Someone to share a meal, or a movie, or just a nice conversation,,,, they are out there and they are anxiously waiting to meet someone just like you. I never thought I would consider signing up on a dating service, but one day an ad for Match.com popped up on my computer. A free trial, as I recall. Anyway, I decided to give it a try and I’m ever so grateful that I did. I met a lady who lived just up the road 10 miles from me and she’s the sweetest lady you could ever imagine. We each lost our spouse to cancer. We began there and built on that. For over a month we talked by email, before we decided to meet for ice cream. That was 2 1/2 years ago. We now share a fantastic love and are enjoying everything that comes our way. We realize that we don’t have a lot of years left, but we’ve resolved that we’ll make the best of them, with and for each other. I still miss my wife, she still misses her husband, but we have a lot in common and we’re sharing a lot of very enjoyable times in “golden years.”

Now, with that said, be careful. Read between the lines. There may be some who would take advantage of you, given the opportunity. But, we talked for over a month before we agreed to meet. We had spent many hours together before we ever met face to face. We knew were a match by that time. Good luck and please send me a message if you'd like to. Hang in there. Dick

My other half is still alive so I can only say I can imagine although I even doubt that. I know what it was like to lose a mother, father and my older brother. I can only take comfort in the fact that I will greet them all once more in Heaven. Although, I have often wondered if I will even know them.
I guess we just trust God.
God bless you, Tony
