I have a great imagination. Sometimes it runs contrary to the way things really are. I guess thatís what makes life so enjoyable, I imagine it, then my sweetie makes it happen. Life just couldnít get much sweeter.

AFTER DINNER

Bright orange clouds
fade slowly to amber.
A light fog settles in
as dusk takes over.

The best of Mother Nature’s beauty
peers at him over the rim of his glass.
The candle flickers from a slight breeze.

….she smiles.

Conversation has been minimal
as their eyes soak in the beauty...
A distant balladeer
brings them back to the moment.

“Another glass of wine?”

“We could watch the fishermen
unloading and cleaning the days catch,
but honestly I have better suggestions…. “

“Perhaps a walk along the beach?
Maybe a carriage ride?
There’s a trio performing in the hotel lounge,
if you’d care to dance?”

Or

“My room has a fully stocked bar
with a large balcony
overlooking the coastline
and the stereo has all the greatest tunes.”

“In addition,
room service is exquisite….”

"Of course, , , ,
if you’d prefer, , , ,
I’ll take you home.”

....she smiles

As she reaches for the key card,
her eyes hold his
they arise.
as they silently float away on gossamer wing,

....he smiles.
