“I surrender,” she yelled as she waved the white flag
“Take me enemy, it’s enough I had”
She drops the flag, the enemy takes over
They take her up to the White Cliffs of Dover

One threw her over the saddled horse
Then took her away to the brigade, of course
There she sat, bound and gagged
The enemy stares at the pretty soldier lad

They gave her some gruel as cold as ice
Barely fed her, only twice
She, a medic nurse in the open fields
The enemy still refused to yield

Un gagged to speak, she told of her plight
Surrendered her flag on the darkest of nights
They would not release her as she begged to go
For the soldiers were wounded, the enemy did know

Fell into an unknown territory, she lost her way
She patiently awaiting for the break of day
“Release me,” she cried, “ to be unbound”,
“A soldier needs me and must be found”

As nighttime fell, with the enemy asleep
An angel appeared in a bountiful leap
Out of the Dover and into the night
She escapes the enemy and finds the soldiers alright.
