I dedicate this to my mother who has alzheimers and two of my aunts who fought until the very end.

You can't quit until you start,
or until you're completely torn apart.
As long as you have your mind,
you can challenge lifes tough grind.
The second your brain is gone,
your body will be left all alone.

You performed your best,
Now it's time for you to rest.
Everyones turn will come,
there's a point where we all succumb.
At times a good quit isn't voluntary,
most of the time it is quite contrary.

As my body pains and ages,
a good quit links my rages.
I'll be here continueously swinging,
long after the birds have quit singing.
There's no glory in just quitting,
a good quit keeps transmitting.

G

I worked with these people as a nurse and it always touched my heart so. I loved them though and I believe that is something they never forget.
