Who needs wings?

Watching the birds fly,
everytime catches my eye.
Amazing to walk around,
then take flight off ground.
Carrying own wings on back,
land and then retract.

Maybe humans don't have wings,
we possess brains of all things.
I'm going to fly anyway I can,
even though I'm an earth bound man.
Come night fall,
in my deams flight call.

Darn near similar experience,
dreaming of flight clearence.
Sometimes I hate to awake,
I need no flying break.
In poetic verse I take off,
hoping I can descend soft.
Sometimes I hit the ground tumbling,
take right back off bumbling.
I have no flight fear,
I keep my parachute near.

Up, up and away,
I'm going to say what
I want too say.
Go out and play,
the way I love too play,
before my behind do decay.
Rip my chute apart,
flying is in my soul and heart.
I maybe dumfounded,
cause in reality I'm grounded.

But !

Clear the air,
because I do dare.

You don't need a parachute. Flying represents freedom and letting go of control, a parachute will only hold you back, with it your soul can not be free. Trust me, I know.

So sweet a write indeed! In dreams we can fly like Peter Pan Maybe if we wish hard enough and long enough we will. Soaring to the heavens! Enjoyed this much.
