Old Souls always know
When they see each other's eyes
They've met somewhere before
They've heard each other's sighs.

They've shared their secret dreams
And shouldered common pain
And laughed and loved before
And know they shall again.

The pool of souls is deep
And random, so it seems,
But sometimes souls re-meet
And sink into deep dreams

Of how would this love be
If it should bloom anew?
Would its scent be still as sweet
As the bouquet they once knew?

Gorgeous! Love the notion of cyclic life and re-incarnation. Love the idea of souls who meet in one life and remain connected throughout others. And, once again, your talent for writing is evident.

Hi Jerry
I hope you read this. You left a review on the first poem I ever wrote, "Eternity,"
back on Jan 29. I just found it. I do resonate with this poem, too. There are, indeed, a handful of people whom I knew that I'd known for a very long time the moment I met them. It is a precious, ominous sensation. Vicky

Wonderful use of rhyme, have to agree with Dani, this form is the true art of poetry. Mal.

Most defiantly my sort of poetry. Rhyming is a true art form one that it would appear you have mastered. Rhythm is hard to teach…but yours is so natural and that’s the only way to be. Impressed to say the very least. Ty, Dani

Oh, yes.. yep.. this one blew me down! Such tender visions you must have stored in your head.. the rhyme and meter are flawless.. but it's the story that caused the weeping.. This is so fine, Jerry. katy.
