Calendar says change is not too far away.
Summer down here likes to prolong its stay.
In other places the seasons will turn.
Louisiana heat will continue to churn.
I have friends with homes in the snow.
How do they do it when blizzards blow?
We have two colors, none or green.
I’d like to see fall hues in between.
So I watch the seasons, but don’t complain.
Our tires do not require a chain.
When I see the heavy snow I don’t jeer.
I am just thankful I live down here.
