We live on a dead end street with an abundance of shade.

Mowing the yard it is a beautiful day.
A long way off the sound of a mule’s bray.
Squirrels across the yard having fun at play.

House windows open to let in the air.
No a/c so electricity we could spare.
Weather here this nice is usually rare.

One man across the street mows his grass.
The driver and I wave as they slowly pass.
Another man is cordial, but can be crass.

Interstate traffic hum floats through the wood.
A Day like today to be alive is certainly good.
These are sights and sounds of our neighborhood.
