~ Snow Maiden~Dreamy Pleasures~
~~~
Snow maiden dreamy pleasures,
Snow maiden to a magical land,
Snowflake dreams, no melting today
Dreamy pleasures, lacy pearl snowflakes,
One upon the other, frosty winter's
Garden long ago
Pretty white snowbirds
Gathering for their flight
To sugar white pristine beaches
Of Southern emerald seas, purest white
Ah! what a beautiful sight
Whirling up, whirling down
Upon the waves, purest white snowbirds
Light upon the pristine sugar white sands
Snow maidens, dream pleasures,
Snowflakes falling around her,
Scene of beauty, she in her garden
Imagining the flowers bloom,
Now resting under a quilted
Snowflake blanket
Dreamy pleasures, sunshine on
The garden, pleasures all mine
Snow maiden, I'll take your hand
To share snow covered paths
Dreamy pleasures grand
Look ! snowflakes in my precious hand
Pearl snowflakes twirling, whirling,
Magical pearl snowflake necklace
For my love to place
Snow maiden, dreamy pleasures,
Love of snow, pleasure of a dream
In a garden long ago, heavenly sight,
White snowbirds in flight,
Little white snow snowbirds,
Take me when you go
Magical garden, snow maiden seen,
Winter's day, dreamy pleasures of long ago,
Magical pearl snowflake necklace
Of a magical winter's day
You make snow almost likeable with your dreamscape imagery and soothing verse. I however, being old and crusty will not fall victim to the evil charms of her twin sister slush mama;-) Patrick
THE LAST WINTER THAT I SPENT IN DC(2009-2010)THERE WAS A TERRIFIC SNOW STORM. WHEN ONE STEPPED OUT OF THEIR HOUSE IT WAS LIKE STEPPING INTO A WINTER'S WONDERLAND...'EVERYTHING' WAS WELL COVERED WITH BEAUTIFUL, WHITE, VIRGIN SNOW. IT WAS SO LOVELY THAT IT SEEMED UNREAL...BREATHTAKINGLY MAGICAL...AND FOR A SPLIT SECOND, ONE COULD WELL IMAGINE THEY WERE DREAMING. I ENJOYED THIS WORK. IT IS WELL DONE AND FULL OF GREAT IMAGERY...THANKS FOR SHARING. LOVE, BLESSINGS AND FAITH. JOYCE * HIS INSPIRATIONS
"A serene solace of beauty" A magnificent place to be in, Lady Mary Ann, when all of Gods wonder filled magic fills the heart and senses with peace and thankfulness. I believe I've encountered this "snow maiden" you speak of, in the mountains, on the pure white expanses, where trees, laden heavily with newly fallen powder, whisper mysteries to discerning ears. It's when the sky is clear and blue, and the air is crisp and invigorating, that she manifests as a loving embrace, sating the senses, mind, and soul, with an inexplicable peace. Your work is pure, poetess, and your heart paints soothing and efficacious images. Never rest your quill ... richard
You have captured the wonder and excitement of snow so well in this offering, Mary Ann. Your snow maiden is lovely as she explores and feels the impact of snowy pleasures in her garden. Lovely phrasing, beautiful concept.
What a wondrous portrait of the falling and sticking snow. I have lived in places where the snow is routine in the Winder time, New York, Denver and Cheyenne. I love to see it when the flakes are very large, there is nothing in the world like watching nature do its thing with the snow. Fantastic poetry, Mary Ann . . .
reminds me of the old Anne Murray song, "so little snowbirds take me with you when you go, to that land of gentle breezes where the peaceful waters flow." You paint a good picture of winter around the corner without painting yourself into it (the corner I mean!)
