The Silent Town

I've come to this godforsaken town..

I've come to this god forsaken town
Your note is what led me here..
Received in the mail just last week

I must be crazy to come here
Following your silly letter
Why would you even want to see me again?

I had no idea the darkness I would find
As I walked down deserted streets
Cars left in the road with doors hanging open

What happened to this town?
Why did everyone leave?
And why would you summon me here?

The monsters came out at night
They chased me into an abandoned building
But I found a gun to keep me safe..

I’m still alive somehow
But something is seriously wrong with this town
and this morning the sun never rose

And I still haven’t found you,
I don’t know why I even came.
After all, you’ve been dead for three years now..

I was crazy to come here

Unfortunately, Susan is right. But since it's common, it's nothing we need to be ashamed of. This write was haunting at first, then the second to last line blew me off my course. Particularly captivating write.

Warm Love,
