One of "The Lost Works of North Beach"
Somewhat rewritten, by memory.

I sit wearily, read Jane Mead
and wonder why I am so flustered
by women who
adore me
.
Mother
I
never knew
the you in me
.
Now I sit in Golden Gate
drinking a beer and
slowly discovering
.
I suckled your vodka bottle like
a swollen tit, cold and unforgiving
yet it never placated my need for love
nor did it give recourse for
empty dreams

... Sometimes pumping spirits could mean breathing vapor of life from a dew of love...

"Golden Gate Park Two" makes me think and pushes my imagination to reason.

I liked the reading.

Thank you.
