Out there In the Cold

Dedicated to my Tanqe, Te Amo Mi Amor

Alone I sit in my room

While he is out there in the cold

Wondering, wishing, waiting

For him to come home to me soon.

Praying, hoping

To see the gleam of headlights

Upon the snow covered street

Time goes by so slowly

Tick, Tock, Tick, Tock

Resounds in my head

What time is it?

Was there more to say?

Did I do enough?

While the winter snows keeps him away

Alone I sit on my bed

With thoughts of him in my head

My heart crys out

"Come home soon,

Rest your feet,

Let me keep you warm"

Come in from this wicked winter storm.

Out there in the cold

Is not where you need to be

You should be at home in bed lying next to me.

Sleeping peacefully

Dreaming dreams

In the morning awakening

To this face

I kiss you gently

Hold you close

You are still out there in the cold

I embrace you,

You embrace me

I left a light on,

But no tapping did I hear

Are you ok?

Out there in the cold

Are you thirsty?

Are you getting anything to eat?

Are you numb?

Are you tired my Tanqe?

As the cold winter winds blow

I'm missing you like hell

It's getting late,

No sign of you near

I can't sleep

I don't even want to try

Until you are in my arms and I can hold you through the night.

Desiree, this poem shows a depth of passion, longing, and concern for a loved one out of our sight. Your warmth and love shows through here, and gives insight into the hidden heart of a woman. Thanks for the trip!
