Video: “Rachmaninov prelude 23-5” by Evgeny Kissin. Enjoy!

Everyday I sit down at the keyboard.
My fingers move frantically as I try
to write about you. Losing the moment
in faraway sunsets -- draped in ochre liner
and indigo brows -- I dream like a child
who wishes for madness to pass over
the night, like lambs to the slaughter of day.
We aren't two peas in a pod, but two
squares of different sizes, butting each others
borders into a wall of our resistance...
Where love finds devotee's hiding in music
of melodious drama, causing kisses
to linger upon lips. There, ever wanting,
tranquility rises like mist in mourning.

I didn't see your note until the second time through reading it. I was surprised to see it there, as that line, as it is written, was my favorite line in the poem and I had not thought of using the other spelling/meaning there. I loved the imagery that simple phrase holds and loved the alliteration of it as well...

Sara,
Excellent in expression, tone and mood, and a quiet passion coloured with sadness and the knowing of differences.

Resonated with Rachmaninov since I first heard his music in my teens. Beautiful expression of his passion and palpable sorrow, Sara. Saved.
Thank you...Lin

There's sadness in this poem, and then there's the longings that cries from the soul. Enjoyed the poem as well as the video!!
