Toxic Truth

Standing on the brink of tears.
The truth has wounded me once again.
Lies, they say, are deceitful.
But then, so is the truth.

Toxic lies infect my soul.
Corrupting an impressionable mind.
But toxic truth is far more fearful.
For the truth has no shame.

I’d rather hear a thousand lies,
Than have to face the truth.
The truth is unfeeling, unkind, unremorseful...
And untrue ...

It's nothing really. Another poem based on a dream. I have strange dreams sometimes, but they aren't real in anyway. I'm not as mentally unbalanced as people sometimes think... :-)
