Denial is definitely a drug!
It can be addictive like Crack Cocaine.
I’ve watched people smoke it fiendishly
and thus cause themselves heartache and pain.
Parents use it to block the truth
about their child being on a wayward path.
This action only enables the behavior,
which certain ones try to defend with wrath.
Husbands puff it to ignore the fact
that their wives are all out of alignment.
Their vision is dark, just pitch black
and their sensibilities are in sheer confinement.
Wives abuse it by failing to realize
that their husband’s heart is clearly elsewhere.
If it wasn’t, he wouldn’t fool around!
His actions would show that he indeed does care.
Methadone is used to combat heroin.
Librium is part of detoxing for alcohol.
I don’t know how denial is treated, though.
The Bible says that pride is before a fall!
Drug dealers can’t sell denial on the streets.
Neither is it discussed through wire-tapped phone calls.
Ultimately, we have to decide that we want to change.
No rehab program
is going to help us
if we don’t have the determination
to seek help and accept it.
