It’s calm and quiet in the middle of the night
Lovely thoughts and soft emotions
Reminiscing past - what a delight?
Friends, places and great occasions
The endless walk down the river
To my Aunt’s place, on a crooked pathway
As a little kid it gave me shiver
To cross the cemetery on its way
Learning to ride a cranky bicycle
What a feat it was, I can never forget
As I zoomed down the slippery hill
A thrill it was when I passed young Janet
My math teacher, a big terror
His geometry was such a mess
The grade card was a great horror
My Math score, a big distress...
Wasn’t it true when the girl next door
Passing my window would cast a glance
It skipped a beat, my heart for sure
Little gestures made me dance
My first ever date was a disaster
Never did I see a girl so smart
Just when I thought I impressed her
She left me saying “nay let’s part”
Walking the aisle on the wedding day
Hand in hand with my lady love
A blessed moment I would say
Felt afloat in the heaven above
My first child was a heaven on earth
Would kick me soft with her tiny feet
Little sweet heart is all my wealth
Makes me proud and feel complete
Time passes at a rapid pace
And lets a man as wiser to be
I thank thee Lord for your endless grace
What I am is you in me.
In the calm of the night with hopeful thoughts
Peace for all I beg and pray
To a deep sleep I go in a naught
To wake in the morn on a new born day
