At long last a proper tribute to the Thanksgiving bird. The majestic Turkey

TO THE TURKEY, A MAJESTIC BIRD

I sometimes wonder, and at times I ponder
If there are two kinds of birds, of the same feather; that is
Those you see in the supermarket
And those you don't.

Those that fly in the sky
The others don't fly
But grow heavy breasted, short legged and drum my thighs
And a meaty neck besides

To some a total goofy gobbler
The other grown wild and sometimes weary
In mountain, plain, and forest
To the point of being a genius.

Well done, Peter. I will never look at a turkey the same way again. Enjoyed it. ~E

Well, there's the difference between born free and 'raised for cuisine art'...oh, but I agree so very much with your first visitor's comments...am enjoying them, too. (There ought to be a rating system for reviews)

Gotta appreciate the randomness of this piece. Kudos, friend. Viva la turkey!
