The demo to this song is now available for review on soundclick...go to the link provided below and click on the lo-fi...for regular or hi-fi for broadband connections. The first song is the demo version.

Lou is a talented songwriter/singer who produced the demo...the lyrics are my own and were posted here back in december...I do hope you enjoy it
be patient as sometimes the mp3 takes a few minutes to load

by day she was an angel
wearin best of  angel wings
by night she found her heaven
in  the earthliest of things
she was the talk of the Blue Moon Tavern
and the gossip on the street
had my mama fallen out of grace
between somebody's sheets
now mama was just a poor girl
not quite twenty three
who had herself five children
doin what came naturally
she worked down on the corner
at the local five and dime
while daddy ran a bootleg still
just across the county line

some townsfolk got together
decidin it wasnt right
for kids to have a mother
who was an angel of the night
so they called up the county shelter
and when mama was away
packed us up and took us there
to spend our childhood days

mama never had a band of gold
but she had a satin dress
and when evenin came, she shed those wings
and put it to the test
but one fine day in glory
the good lord called her name
cause in his eyes we're all the same
in his eyes we're all the same

some said it wasn't fittin
when my mama passed away
to dress her up in that satin dress
to face her judgement day
but I knew she'd love the gossip
when laid to final rest
cause on her stone I wrote these words

she did what she did best

repeat last (cause in his eyes we're all the same ) 2 times

This poem/song is fantastic.

"Dimestore Angel(repost of lyrics)" I have a feeling that if this song is recorded professionally, it will be a national and international hit.

Thank You.

Thank you so much bill for your nice review...the earlier version with just the accoustic guitar was just the rough draft. It was a little too long we thought to warrant airplay so we uped the tempo from 120bpm to 127 which made it pretty much up to par without having to delete a verse.

Very good work on the music. Enjoyed it. Liked the version without the acoustic guitar much better. Bill
