I lie here tonight
In bed
Hearing a storm pound
Against my window
I lie dumbfounded
And speechless
And all I can think is
What the fuck happened?

I cannot help
But choke on tears
You molded me
Shaped me
You made me who I am today
You saved me
And I will never forget
All you taught and showed me

You said
Two months
Or two years
And we'd still talk
I cried for you
At the two month mark
And now it's been two years
And I sob tonight

All you have missed
All I've fluttered through
Because I couldn't share it with you
I feel as though it never happened
Death, love, discovery, despair
You've missed it all
And oh what I would give
To share it with you once

So much time has passed
And I know I've changed
But you said, two months, two years
Nothing would ever change
So please
Tonight answer your phone
And tell me
Two years has been too long
