A Fallen Poet

Tonight the poet inside me is dead
She is a fallen angel
Confused over why she was ever given wings
Her heart aches and strains
At lost words and tortured emotions
She knows both heartache and strength
Yet falters over words and
Stumbles past syllables
Tonight this young poet cries
Her tears a faded echo
Among closed books and capped pens

You definitely got the poet in you.

Awwwwww, so very sad. By the grace of God and the morning sunlight it will all return again. Well written, never give up!
Be safe,
Karen

Your view of a loss of thought and the power to write is a well displayed expression of poetry...and poet...
