The snow fell silently in layers
Layer after layer
Enveloping the world in bitter silence

Our vows were made and plans were set
For a future ever bright.
But time was less kind, than we once thought,
And silence grew at night.

Our dialogue soon was naught,
But work, and kids and bills.
For among our wilting conversations
Lay these safe harbors still.

Once we lived off hopes and dreams.
Love was a dessert we shared.
Now we remain together still,
For the truth is too painful to bear.

Every day I saw you,
Each night and each dawn.
But each time I saw you, less I saw,
Until the man I loved was gone.

How sad, but very well expressed and well written.
