we sure do enjoy sailing her, she can be as gentle as a baby, or she can be the devil herself,,,if you've been there, you know what I mean,,, |

out for the day
waves make for a
gentle sail
thought it was a dream
still a puzzle to me
how I got caught in this
tail spin rodeo wave
any well seasoned mate
can tell you
even greenhorns she’s pursued
will tale you
it’s so easy to get
lost~ r’~captured
out on open sea
no matter how hard the fight
there’s always left behind
those
of the sailor’s lost
to find the answer
to carry on the
pride~n~mystery of the sailor’s
battle lost whispering in the
winds a ghost cry
loved ones bow our heads
when sending you out to sea
torn between
love~n~hate
waves of small tides we enjoy
become wicked, toss you
‘round like a child’s toy
when tides are high
each vessel sailed
has a tag of cost
she has no tenderness
she’s cold
she’s her own boss
she’s big, she’s bad
no conscious what so ever
capturing
sailor~n~vessels
her ploy
but if it weren’t for her
there would be no sailor boys
if she were to ever be gone
she surely would be missed
despite her selfishness
despite the beauty
she is certainly
a she devil sea
the way God’s nature
intended her to be

| Coni, we surely can't tame her can we. She is so unpredictable. We can only ride her and hope we maintain our balance. Great poem. Bill |
