mary and jean and mike and tana were

people i knew well in london

                                       wake up

the bus is here and breakfast is out there

the girls have already eaten

                                         that cup

is yours to use

                       station finsbury park

to go to work in the PARLIAMENT with

letters and files

                          i won't be home till dark

food is ready at night

                              here served forthwith

peeking watching, television with jean and

mary and mike comes home late too

                                         while in

the kitchen tana has cooking in hand

radio plays while cat gets in the bin


a typical british household they said

and by the evening ready for bed
