The huge moon rose regally on the horizon,
Dripping molten gold into dark water.
Rising higher and higher it became,
Pale white, lighting seascape bright as day.
Stars appeared in the dark night sky,
Looking like pinpricks in a black velvet curtain,
Behind which great lights blazed brightly,
Causing each minuscule opening to glisten.
As we headed unwilling toward the shore,
Land appeared as a glowing open jewel box.
The night was balmy the air light and we were,
High again with the joy of night sailing.
